I did this for my son-in law for his birthday. He is crazy about big cats!
Assorted soft pastels and Nupastels on velour paper. Size is 12 x 15.
C&C always welcome.

Hi Katherine

I think you got a great composition with the confronting movement and eye-contact of the tiger. Nice shadows on the ground.
the image is a bit blurred; but perhaps an reinforcement of the highlight and shadows would tell more clearly the lights direction and make even more (beautiful) contrasts :)

I took a brief glance and kept scrolling down, assuming the first image was the ref. photo...of course when no other image materialized, I realized it was your finished piece. It is very good.

Upon closer inspection, the legs, paws and forground need a little more work to bring them up to the level of realism you have achieved in the face (IMO).

All in all, I'd be proud if it were mine. :D

What a nice gift for your SIL. It looks great! And I bet the eyes look really wonderful close up!

Beautifully done!! I want to start doing some critters but I have too many things in progress right now and I feel silly starting another one :blushing:

Thanks all for the feedback!
LOL Legs and feet are one of my trouble areas, but Matt loves it.
The photo is a little blurry, but the painting isn't.
