Hello,

Since I am new to the site and have worked in pastels a little before trying CP, I thought I would post one of the Pastels I've done.

I did this about a 1 1/2 years ago after the 2nd X-Men movie came out. I thought it would be fun to do a portrait of one of the charecters. This was the first time I'd ever done a portrait and also the first time I seriously drew a human. Actually it remains the only time I seriously drew a human as I'm always drawn to animals...

Anyway, this is Kurt Wagner AKA "The Incredible Nightcrawler!" which is the title for this pic. It's on 14x17 bristol board, done with pastel pencils. Sorry it isn't bigger.

Wow, Daniele...for it being a "first" for you in more than one area, it's very good!!

Thank you Denise, I was really quite proud of it when it was first finished. I know there are problem areas, I had to just wing it in parts of the legs which where cut off in the reference photo and the blending could be better. But I really learned a lot and had a lot of fun too.

Pretty cool, Daniel! I've never tried pastel pencils but I keep thinking I'm going to one of these days. Looks like you enjoyed working with them.

Well, you did an excellent job! I think you could do people portraits too if you ever wanted!
