It's photo day :) I'm stuck on cherries! These have more yellows and oranges than the sweet cherries on just finished. I believe these are called Ranier or Queen Anne cherries.
I have a couple of photos....I'm looking for a vertical format...
Do you like the taller glass, or the shorter? Does it work better to have the glass on the left side or the right side?
I'd like the cherries in the glass to be the focal point, so I think the short glass works better for having it be where it should...I may just need to light it better.

I like the cherries on the right side with the short glass. But, I don't like the look of the glass on the top, it looks bent. I like the bottom glass better.

I like the cherries on the right. I don't like the first glass you have. The second looks nicer. Maybe, shorten the stem on that one.
I like the one on the left in the shorter, rounder glass with the cherries on the left. Maybe a little change in the lighting. :)

I like the one on the right. I really like the way the cherries on the bottom are situated. Did you give up on the cherries with the checkers and suspended spoon?? I hope not!

I like the placement of the cherries at the stem of the tall glass, but not real crazy about the grouping of the cherries inside either glass. Maybe try seeing what either glass looks like w/ the cherries filling them to almost over-flow, as if the two on the bottom spilled out. That might look good in the shorter, fuller glass...maybe....;)

No, Lahree, I haven't given up on that concept. I have been working on a few smaller pieces for an exhibit that's coming up. But I plan on getting back to this one. One thing I am discovering from posting possible compositions in both forums is that you can't please anyone but yourself....and that's why I paint..to please myself. If others like it, I'm thrilled...if not, I'm thrilled. ;) I'm forging ahead and I have always learned from doing.... I'm sure I will learn a ton along the way..thanks for your vote of confidence :)
Don't get me wrong, I love feedback and suggestions, I learn alot that way too. I just have to be careful how far astray of my original "vision" I get trying to follow down a path that pleases others. I think that is the dilemma of an artist...how to be true to yourself while taking what you can from your audience and peers as to what moves them (or doesn't move them) about your art.
As for this piece I did get a good suggestion from Judy (pinkrybns) to try the glass lying down with the cherries spilling out. I did photo a bunch of those yesterday and have to say I like them better than the upright glass. I reached "focus" overload the other day...so have to let the photos sit for a bit until I can think clearly about it again. After awhile they all start to run together.
Thank you Roses, Beth and Denise..I really appreciate your feedback.

i agree totally with denise. but if you're after a tall arrangement stick with the taller glass. personally i like the direction you're headed in with this better then pinky's suggestion. why? because her way has been done ad nauseum.
