Marking new messages

I also visit another, large forum that does something neat that I haven't seen before. They probably have 400 threads total, under different topics. Until you've looked at a particular thread it will say "NEW" by it so you know you haven't read it. And then when someone makes a new post to a thread you have read, it will also say "NEW" to let you know a new message has been posted on that thread. It's very convenient; instead of having all the new posts jumbled up together on the same list, you can easily pick and choose which new messages you want to look at.

I always seem to be running about three (or more) steps behind but I just found the 'New Posts' button along the top of the tool bar. Yes, folks. I couldn't find where anyone was from until Toni ever so sweetly told me where it was hiding in plain view but I did find the 'New Posts' button.

All the threads with (yes, you're right. A good guess on your part.) New Posts are all listed right there in order of posting date. It's been very handy already!
