Okay, I just went and purchased and cheap set of Oil Pastels so I could learn how to use them - any suggestions?

At the risk of sounding like an idiot or having you think I am making fun of your question (which I'm not :) ..
Use them! Explore...be a kid! See what you can create!!!
Hi
beside Cindys good idea :)
you could get some great inspiration from:
http://www.oilpastelsociety.com
they have some tutorials (that are changed now and then, as far as I've found it)
... and let's see some of your work with the oil-pastels :p

Hi Angela,
I have only used them once and I wasn't any good at it. ;)
There are a lot more places to look for suggestions, there's even an oil pastel forum at WC.
Here are a few tutorials that might help...?

http://www.dickblick.com/zz200/38/
(there's a place to click towards the bottom of the page for tips)
http://paintpleinair.com/arttips.html
(if your interested in trying plein air, there are tips here using oil pastels)
I also read that you can use mineral spirits with them to help thin and blend. Hope you're having fun with them!
