Hello all,
Some of you I know from wetcans. Been rather stagnent lately with art.
Been doing more with pastel pencils, this is on Art Spectrum Colorfix Coated Pastel paper, nice for pastel and watercolors, but eats up pencils fast..Not quite sure if i posted it correctly..... Taken with a digital too big for scanner rather grainy look, not natural...

Thanks, Raye

Raye,

A bit hard to make out, but looks great from what I can see... yes, the sanded/toothed surfaces can certainly eat up the pencils. I love the look though... I enjoy the rough surfaces more than the smooth. There is personality there! Keep going ... :-)

The picture is a bit pixelated so it's hard to tell but it looks like an interesting composition. I like close-ups like this. You do such beautiful work. This will be a fun one to watch.

Tried to take a better pic, outside. Too big for my scanner.... Thinking this is complete.....
All critiques welcome....
Thanks Raye

Hello, Raye! Glad to see you finished your goose. I find the center area just under the neck a bit distracting. The head is dark and that area is bright so it has more punch it seems.

I like that bill and eye! Were the pastels difficult to work with? Did you enjoy them? I've never used them so I just don't know...
