I was hoping someone would be able to give me directions on how to put my watermark over my pics. My dad is convinced that someone will steal my artwork? I don't think so, but you know parents!

Angela,

Here is a link

A tutorial for how to put a watermark on your work in Photoshop. I personally haven't done it, but I'm sure it's not that hard.

I found a company with free downloads called www.digimarc.com and you may want to check that out too. :-)

Good luck, let me know if I can help further.

it's fairly simple. set your color to about 50% gray. then click on the T on your tool bar. pick a typeface and size. Type your copyright across your drawing, then go to your layers window and reduce the opacity of the typeface to 50% or even less...sometimes I go down to 30%. check the checkmark above, then go to layers>merge layers, and viola you have a watermark.

just be sure to save as, so you don't lose your original.

Hi
if you want a copyright sign with any kind of "dropped shadow", bevel/embossed or anything:

Type your copyrightsign (alt + 0169)
Add a layer-style (bottum of the layers-popup-menu): the icon looks like a "f"
then you can choose "blending options" and make different changes beside the opacity-level to the symbol :bye1:

Wow Arlene and Lene, you sure are good at the techie end of it! I never would have guessed you could do it that quickly! :-) Ah... I'm falling behind, better get out the Photoshop book... so much to do, so little time!

Unfortunately, Angela it does happen. A watermark won't prevent thievery by ppl with no morals, but at least you can prove it's yours.
