Hi
when working with the valuescale (piece of print with squares of 10 values), I found it easier instead of just dragging the value-scale over the photo/drawing, to make a rectangular hole in a card. You then hold the hole over ½ valuescale + ½ colors, the white card keeping all distrations out. Perhaps sounds very simple, but I find it useful ;)
