Hi! :bye1:
First off……your work is fantastic! I’m amazed every time I see one of your drawings.
I’ve had very limited use of colored pencils and decided to try a couple of “kits” to get acquainted with them. I started out with your Black Dog Kit and finally finished it this week. I really enjoyed doing this kit and being a beginner, I believe it was time well spent and would highly recommend it to others. Although it's nowhere near the caliber that you drew it, I still had fun drawing it. :)
The reason I tried this particular kit is because I have a black lab mix dog in which I have a lot of photos. I have recently been informed (by another very talented artist) to try to stay away from black and grays for my dog and try using tones of blues, reds, and purples instead, for an interesting black. In the kit, you used a lot of cold, warm and french grays along with black.
My question is; how do you give depth to your black areas today?
Thanks,
Dave
