Gloria asked this question: Also is there a brief or thread on how you get your WIPs onto a thread. If you have the item in a digital picture file, what next? I realize this is more than basic for many of you but I need a little help here so that I can participate more. I'll read anything needed, just tell me what.

I've gathered some information from past answers to this question. I hope this helps.

First, I need to be sure my digital picture (scanned or from a digital camera) is the correct size, 600 x 600. I do this in a photo editing program such as Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Paintshop Pro, or MS Picture It. There are other programs, these are just examples.

To upload and attach your photos, scroll past the window where you post your words you'll see somethign that says:
Additional Options.
Look for the option called: Attach Files. It's in little blue letters and is the second option. It has this description. Valid file extensions: "bmp doc gif jpe jpeg jpg pdf png psd txt zip" and there is a button called "Manage Attachments".

Hit the manage attachments button and you'll be able to upload same as you would anywhere else. Just make sure to hit the upload button before closing out that window.

You won't see the attachments until you hit post (submit) so you won't be able to preview thread button and see the attachments.

I write my information about the WIP I'm doing, upload and attach the correctly sized photo of my work in progress, and hit submit. When I need to show the next stage of my work, I use the same thread so all my steps are together.

I just thought that I would add to this information. My scanner, copier, printer (3 in 1) has photo editor with it. If you have a scanner, you probably have a photo editor on it, where you can resize your photos. You can't do as much with it as photoshop, i'm sure, but it will do what you need to post scans of your art. If you have a digital camera, you can upload pictures then open them with your scanner photo editor.

Also, after submit a reply to a thread, you have awhile (30 min?) to edit your own reply, so if you forget to attach a picture, then you can go back and attach it. (I've done this a couple of time. :o ;) )

I do have one question to add.
How do you attach a photo, then add more text, then add another photo, where there is text between photos? :)
