This is my second attempt at drawing with pen, well at least this entire project. Again I'm going for a comicbook feel. I re-drew it 3 times, and finally looked at a Biology book for the wings :p . Hope you like it, and any criticism would be good. I think I still need to do a little bit of work on it though.

great values Orion, keep the work coming! The first thing I notice is that her wings appear to be backwards :o

Woops :p , Looks I wasn't paying enough attention to the Biology book *lol* I'll make sure I don't do that again. Thanks for the compliment.

I just did a search for bird wings on the web, I think the Angel's wings might be ok. see, here is a pic i found http://www.baumbach.com/private/PicturesWilliam/BirdWings.jpg. I think all I need to do is a little more shading on the wing to get it to look a little better. Or i could just be completely wrong*lol*
I like it....
What king of pen did you use ?

:D I think the wings look right... maybe the perspective of them could be tweaked, but it looks okay to me! I like your shading and thanks for the reference picture ... you're doing research, and that's great. It's so important to get proportions right. :-) Good job!

For the outline I used a uni-ball Vision Elite, just a run of-the-mill black ink pen, and for the bulk of the shading I used a .5mm black "pigment ink" pen, a Millinium I think, it says that in really big letters on the side. And for the shading on the skin I used a .1mm that is the same brand.
I also worked on the shading of the wings last night, and they look better now. I'll show it later after I get it scanned again.

I have never thought of drawing with pen, I'm too messy with leaning on my work and pen would get me into alot of trouble. I think you did a wonderful job. I love the bottom of the dress, how it fans out. The wings are gorgeous too, the lines for all the feathers must have taken a while. Good job

Thanks! Actually the feathers didn't take as long as you'd think they did.
I'm sure you could do it. I always draw a light outline in pencil and go over that with the pen, then I erase the pencil. Just do that, you'd be suprised ;)
Great job!!! You did an awesome job on the wings. One can tell you enjoy working in ink :-). So, what's the next project? :-)
