I am having an issue w/ new posts not showing when I click new posts on the tool bar. It like it's registering mark all posts as read even though I'm not clicking that. Sometimes it will show all the new posts, I look at a few, take a break or exit and come back, and then they're all marked like I have been through them all. Does this make sense? Is this happening to anyone else? Am I doing something incorrectly?

I'm having the same problem. I click on New Posts and there are a whole list. I read a couple, leave, come back and click on New Posts again and there are none. Somehow it seems Mark All Threads Read button is being clicked by me but I'm not.

It's a puzzle??

That's EXACTLY what's happening!

While it's frustrating, it is nice to know I'm not alone...;)

My gripe is I cannot load my banner. Nor can I upload my new work. It comes up with increase size. I increase. I increase, I increase. Not large enough even though the size of my upload is no more than 550 X 493 pixels. Sorry for whinnning. Other than that, I enjoy the site.

Marilyn, how frustrating for you!

Banners have to be stored offsite somewhere. You can set up an account at photobucket. It's free. In your signature line you can link back to the banner at photobucket and it will show up just fine. If you need help with that, let me know and I'll do what I can to help.

Your images... here are a few guidelines. They should be 72 dpi and no larger than 600 px in either direction. The error you are getting says it's too small? If you want to email your image to me I'll try to help you out. PM me if you don't have my email address.

I just love your banner... so bright, so FUN!!! :D

Yay, Marilyn!! I LOVE your banner. It's perfect! Well, except for the fact that the banner can be no larger than 60 px high. (Yours is 80 px) Sigh... I know. What a pain. The reason for the limit is because we're trying to be considerate for the ST members who are on dialup. They won't have to wait so long for the thread to open if we try to keep our banner sizes down. Can you make that change and relink your banner?

This is a great banner. It's colorful, happy, bright and makes me smile like crazy!

Marilyn, Nice banner! :)
So, how do you get this photobucket thingy? :) ;)

Brenda

Beth, this photobucket thingy is easy to do!

Go to http://photobucket.com/
Click on "Join Now" in the top left corner.
Fill out the registration form.
Click on the "Register" button.
They will send you an email.
Click on the link in the email.
And now you have an account!
Once you are logged in, it's really pretty simple to do. Upload your picture to photobucket and copy the url. They have it right there for you.

Come back to ST. Start a thread. Click on the little yellow box in the tool bar showing the mountains (That's the Insert Image box). It will ask you for the url. Paste the url where it asks you for it. And that is just about all there is to it!

One nice thing about using Photobucket is you can add your image in your thread and type between the pictures. That's what I did in my "wonder" thread where I was giving the explanation on how I use the brush. Type a bit, add a pic, type some more, add another pic, type some more... well. You get the picture.

PM me if you have problems.

Thanks Brenda! I will try that tomorrow. I'm going to have to go to bed early tonight, to recuperate from this weekend! You are so good at 'xplanin' ;) things.

if you log out of the site and then come back it's as if you're starting anew. since you were on the site before, it assumes you've read the posts.

Thanks Brenda. Your a doll for all the help.

Brenda. Why not put this under Gemmas rules for making banners. Your instructions, that is. That way it is all in one place. Looking for this, would be much easier. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the explaination, Brenda...I was wondering the same thing...

I thought the images had to be loaded from a website to put text between the images...now I know for sure!;)

it's not when I log out that it's happening....I'll look at a couple of posts (for a long list of new posts), then leave it up, come back later to finish looking at the posts, look at one, come back to the list, but it's gone....no exit, just a break...puzzling:confused:

Me, too! I'm not logging out. Just leaving and coming back. Or doing some other computer work and coming back.

Hi Guys,

I checked out the issue with the New Post. It turns out that it is a known problem with the software. It is suppose to be fixed in the new version of software which is in beta testing now. So... there's not much I can do now to help with this issue but hopefully when we upgrade the problem will go away.

Sorry I'm not much help, :(
