Now for something completely different for me  . Started this last night, just in the beginning stages. Approx. 8 x 10, prismacolor on black stonehenge.

Bill this looks very interesting already !! I'm looking forward to watching this develop.

Question? How do you find time right now to draw? - But then maybe you are praying along with your drawing - could be very relaxing

Wow!

I'm enthralled..........

simplistic, yet powerful. Wonderful mood, but what is the mood exactly? Not sad, nor lost. Hmmmm I'll have to ponder while your workin on this, maybe your next post will give us a better clue?

Is that a new "style" is see emerging? Do I see a freedom in your pencil strokes, and a new use of color? Exciting when you can manipulate your pencil techniques according to your moods or desired results. Sometimes refreshing to allow yourself to go with it.

looking good. Can't wait for the next update.

Bill, great job on this so far,
this is such a good technique for the subject your tackling I think.
There was something about the forehead that was bothering be, so I snipped it in ps, I hope you don't mind.
I will be watching this with interest

Thanks TJ,

this is feeling a little looser to me, the goal is to have just her hands and face illuminated by the light. Looser equals more freedom for me, just kinda feelin it as I go.

havin fun!

Arlene,

It will be just her, softly lit by a light off the page. The whole piece will have an orange/yellow cast to it with the brightest light being on her hands.

I love the look and feel of this Bill :) ,

She looks slightly pensive to me with sorrow in her eyes, like she is praying for someone she loves soul, hoping for redemption for them.

Well....thats what my crazy imagination sees anyway, LOL

It is looking wonderful! I look forward to the next update :)

Huge hugs,

ALI

I've done some more work on this. About to call it done, want to keep it simple. I'll look at it again tomorrow and see if anything jumps out at me.

Limited palette (obviously)

white
jasmine
punkin orange
black cherry

Bill,

I love the mood, the limited palette and the story behind her eyes.

OK, so I lied. ;) Seeing it here brought a couple minor things to my attention, you probably can't even tell what I changed.

Perhaps that's why she's praying. ;)

Love what you've done anyway! It's a very powerful image!
I look forward to seeing what she looks like after the hand operation. :D

Have fun with it!

Think I saved it, checking the greyscale revealed some problems as well as having my son model for me.
