This is on white stonehenge, about 12 x 16. I think it's finished, but open for suggestions :) . Thanks for looking, Jeri

Hey, Jeri! What a great picture. Love the hair blowing in the wind. You've done a fabulous job with it.
The horse on the right (As I'm looking at it.) seems to lack detail, especially compared to the rest of the drawing. I know it's dark there, but shouldn't there be some hint at detail?
All in all it's just a great pic. You should be proud of this!

I love the manes especially the dark horse's.....You have really captured that wind-blown look...
I agree w/ Brenda and to me your white horse's shadowed areas need to be a bit darker. Over all a really great picture!
Hi Jery
lovely horses, their manes are beautiful
I agree that a bit more definition of values to shape the horses would be great (personally I think the left lighter horse needs more shaping ) ;)

hey this is definitely on it's way. as stated you need more values, especially in the faces. also i'm not up on horse anatomy but to my untrained eye it appears that the length of the snout of the horse on the right is too long?

How gorgeous! The only thing that I would suggest is that there needs to be a background thrown in there someplace.

Thank you, everyone, for your suggestions and comments!
I will take it back to the studio for some more contemplation and see what happens :)

Wait jeri! Don't go yet! I wanna add my two cents worth!
LOL.... ;) (Hey.. .you might even have change left over!)
I like it. I'm reading the body language, subtle but it's there. Too cute. I like them both really.
The bay looks fine to me, size is good he just has a bigger head is all. Mustangs are well... mustangs lol. ;)
The buckskin is a pretty thing. I would like to see a bit more base on his right ear, maybe it's there and I just can't see it in the scan? The only other thing that stands out to me is he appears to be smiling. Almost like his top lip should be in perspective more ( I know they move like this) but just to clairfy his form. Then as you move around to the left under his nostril I'd like to see that soft fleshy bulge that goes to the corner of the mouth, around to the bottom lip. Also the shadow would be softer, lessening the smile effect.
I really like the modeling you achieved on the faces, love the details around the eye sockets, and wonderful foreheads.. well all over. Nice pencil work! Keep it up.

Thanks,Toni! You hit on things that need work-leave it to you, LOL, to go right to the spots that need it :D
Appreciate all the input - I get so involved with what I'm doing, it's hard to step back and see with fresh eyes :p
Thanks again, Jeri

Hi Jeri, maybe a tad more values in the facial areas, but I really love the subtlety of this piece!! Well done!! :bye1:

Ok, I had some time to work on this a bit more today. The differences are subtle, definitely there (Thanks, Toni!). The roan has that wry expression on his face and the black on the right has that innocent doofus look that together was just so intriguing I had to try to catch the quiet communication between these two. There is a bit more in the drawing of the neck and withers of the roan on the left, but it would'nt fit in the scanner, lol.
I will try to post the drawing first and then each horse by himself. Appreciate all of the comments and suggestions :) .
Jeri
quiet doofus look huh? LOL...
you certainly caught that. very nice jeri.

I admire your work. So very strong and delicate at the same time. You know your subject. You can tell with the love that shows in this drawing.
