Got an Alvin EE175 electric eraser off Ebay. It's used, but seems in almost-new condition, and for $15 w/ free shipping, I couldn't resist

BUT, no manual or instructions --- the eraser strip that was in it is worn down practically flush with the tip of the machine. Um.... :blushing: ... how does one remove the old strip & put in a new one? The machine has a screw-type chuck - I can see how that loosens up, but the eraser doesn't come out when I loosen it - do I need to somehow (carefully) "pry" the stub out, or should it be just falling out on it's own once the chuck is loosened?

And... :blushing: :blushing: how do you put in the new strips - from the tip or through the base of the machine? (It *looks* like a opening from the other end of the machine, do you slide the erasers in from there??)

And lastly, :blushing: :blushing: :blushing: :blushing: :blushing: , what type of erasers do y'all usually use? Over at Dick Blick, I see that they have the white ones (I'm guessing those are like regular plastic erasers?) and then they also have several others - some "imbibed" erasers? Which kind of strips are the ones I need to get.

Sheesh.... you'd think I'd find out *something* about how to use a new gadget before I run out & buy one.....

I did google around a little bit, but couldn't find any instructions online....

Can you post a picture of the eraser? My eraser is an inexpensive one from Office Max. All you do is pull out the tip that holds the eraser and replace it and put it back in. So I'm not familiar with what you have.
