:) Hi everyone nice to be here, my name is Della and i live in the UK.
I have already met a few of you so it's nice to see you all i have been so busy didn't even know that the site was happening. It looks really great especially as i use pastel pencils a lot as well so it's great just to have a site for pencils.
A bit about myself, well i live in Hampshire which is in theSouth of England by the sea. I am married and have 3 children all girls and they all seem to have artistic qualitys about them.I live with 4 Birman cats and 2 British shorthairs also our new edition a dalmation pup. We used to breed and show Boxers and that really started my painting and drawing off as i was asked to do commissions for people at the shows. I brought my first box of pastels in 1988 but didn't try CP until the end of 2004 and now i'm hooked. I am self taught but i read lots of books i have hundreds of books on art that has helped me , i have loads on CP now hubby had to buy me a new bookcase :D but this is the way i learn and also i have learnt a lot from you guys since talking to you all, which i'm sure i wil learn loads more and i can't wait,

Welcome Della, I was reading that you work in pastel pencils. I am so excited to have a place to share pastel pencils here in this forum. I look forward to seeing your work!

And boxers.....I had a beloved boxer as a child. I always get sentimental when I see one. Hope to see some of your portraits of these amazing creatures.

Hiya!! Della :) ,

I am from the South too -Cambridgeshire, near Peterborough, its great to see you here. I look forward to seeing some more of your work especially maybe some Boxer portraits. My Monty is a Boxer cross, actually about 90% boxer especially in personality he is very verbal -talks to me all the time :D . His colouring is boxer aswell, has the white diamond on his chest and white toes and reddish coat. Also has the eyes with the expressive eyebrows, LOL. but not the muzzle shape.

:) Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, i'm actually working on a piece using pastel pencils so i will post when it is finished, and Arlene it is my first time at doing a background and i had to make it up myself as the one in the photo was blurry so i shall look forward to what you think and you can tell me where i went wrong :D ali my sister lives in Peterborough they own two pubs and a bistro maybe you've been there for a drink, anyway back to work
