Hello, Hello!!
My name is Sandy and I'm recent fan of colored pencil art!
I loved taking art classes in elementary and high school...my favorite medium has always been pencil; the subject matter, portraits! I went on to get a degree in Fine Arts from Miami University (in Ohio). After graduation, I did house renderings for a pre-fab company (using a combo of ink, markers, and acrylics).
Then I got married, moved around a couple of times, and had two kids!! :D
Even though I got very little artwork done during the kids' growing-up period, I did get to see them play a lot of soccer!! :D And, to help out with household expenses, I have spent the last 25 years (and still counting) as a school bus driver for our district!
Now that the boys have both graduated from college (my oldest, with a Law degree  ; my youngest, just graduated from MIT with an engineering degree   ), it's time for me to get back to my art!
My first awareness of colored pencils as a medium came last fall while I was browsing the art section at one of the local bookstores. My jaw dropped to the floor when I discovered Ann Kullberg's books!! Talk about WOW-ED!! Ever since then, I've been buying and reading every colored pencil book that has been marketed!!
I finally treated myself to some Prismas & Stonehedge paper so I can join in on the fun! I have s-o-o-o much to learn and am looking forward to spending time with all of you!!
:bye1: Sandy
