Hi!

I’m usually just an “active lurker” in forums but….. I thought I’d chime in on this one to say Hi. I live in rural SE Missouri with my wife (of 21 yrs.), six cats and a 1 yr. old black lab/mix dog.

I drew mostly animals in graphite and did some oil paintings of landscapes and still lifes in my younger years. Then I took a sabbatical year…well….actually 20….from it all together. :blushing: I’ve recently started drawing again…..this time trying colored pencils. I’ve only done a couple of pieces so far but I seem to enjoy it. I have a lot to learn regarding cp’s and I look forward to learning to better myself from these forums.

Thanks to everyone in advance for sharing your knowledge,
Dave

Sounds like my story Dave, about 15 years away from art. Don't worry , it'll come back! Another midwesterner, YAYYY, we're takin over! ;)

Hi Dave (from one Midwesterner to another). If you are wanting to learn cp's, you may want to check with Arlene. She's doing a workshop in Newton, KS next month. I don't know how much room is left because it was filling up. I think she will have another one in Oklahoma. There aren't many workshops around our area. Ann Kullberg got to Kansas a few years ago, but other than that, they're scarce. So, you may want to check into it.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately that’s quite a long distance away. St. Louis or Memphis might be a good place for a workshop. ;)

Thank you all for your kind welcome!

Welcome Dave! :bye1: You must be close to me. I'm in NE Arkansas. Where are you located? I go to the CPSA meetings in Memphis (as much as I can). They are having a workshop in April by Pat Averill. If you are interested, send me a PM and I will send you some information.
I am looking forward to seeing some of your work. Don't lurk too much. ;)

Hi Dave welcome! Yeah, I too am an art-returnee after a 20 yr absence. The index of past threads is a great place to learn a whole bunch of cp stuff.Just pull up a comfy chair, get a cup of coffee and you're all set. Do post your work though. That's another great way to learn from the suggestions of the experts here.

Dave good to see you here!!

Yeah, I know all about those decade long dry spells too.........*sigh*

C'mon in and stay awhile, inspiration comes from some unexpected sources sometimes.... go with them when they do!
