This was a commission I did, so there is no WIP. I used Pastel Pencils on Fabriano Tiziano. This paper is soo good! It holds a lot of layers without being to hard on the pencil.

First class work. I too thought it was the reference. I am sure the recipient is totally estatic with this work.

Cool reference photo! Wait.... you mean this is your painting?? Really???? Ok, I wanna see it bigger. I have to drool over this some more and that definitely requires a bigger pic.

Please?

Glad to hear you all like this! It's my favorite painting of the dogs that I have done so far. This was #3! I'll try to send a bigger picture.

Wow, this one blew me away... just like the others I thought the first pic was the reference... and even with the new post side by side, I think your drawing looks BETTER than the reference! Just gorgeous work, you've captured the expression and eyes perfectly! :-)

Thank you Dana, Rose and Deb! Dogs are my favorite animal I really like to paint tham because I have always had them in my life. In fact, I have my baby pictures showing me holding onto a dog before I could walk. :D I even had one at my Wedding! My next door neighbor brought her poodle to the Church and I have a picture that was taken of me bending down to the ground, in my Wedding Gown, to pick him up! Oh well, to each his own..
Anyway, thanks again for all your kind words.....
Jean. :bye1: :bye1:

Wow! Am I glad I could post the reference photo! I was really happy with this painting. But there is a sad story that goes with it. Molly had to be put to sleep just after I completed it. I didn't know this until after I had finished it. But when I found out, and looked at those sad eyes, it really looked like she knew!
Lena! the size of the picture was about 13inches square. The paper - Fabriano Tiziano Pastel Paper, color Coffee.
Thanks to all who viewed and sent comments. I love to hear from all....
:D
