Bobby! My Dog!

Everybody seemed to like Molly so much that I thought I would send another of my dog pictures. Bobby is my dog! I was going to do this painting in CP, but a friend said to try Pastels. So this was my First attempt in that medium. So far I have painted four dogs. I use Fabriano Tiziano Pastel Paper and Faber-Castel Pitt Pastel pencils. The actual painting is about 13 inches square.
Just about life size. Oh by the way, this time I have included the reference picture!! :angel:

Awwww, I remember this! So realisticly done! But if I had to do all of mine in pencils....ach! That's why I use the softies underneath.

Okay Deb! I just got a commision to do a brown lab! :D :D But I don't think I will start it until after I get back from a trip later this month! As Katherine says, "It takes a while to work only in pastel pencil" and I don't want to get started and then have to stop.
Dana, I am still learning myself! I guess as long as we learn we grow!

Awwww, this is SO CUTE!!! I love the pastel pencils, they really glow on the toned background! This is really a super portrait... I can tell you love your doggies! :-) All that love goes into the paintings! Very nice puppy picture!
