This is 4"x4" on watercolor paper, colored pencil and india ink, reference by Sandy1 at WetCanvas.

The scan doesn't show all the little details and dang, the color is off a bit too, but c&c welcome! (And suggestions on how to scan CP and get it righthttp://www.scribbletalk.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif ).

Awwww... what a cute little face! And this is only 4x4? How fun! You get to create and do it quickly.

I always enjoy seeing your work!

Did you use a watercolor wash under the cp jeri? Thats what I've been doing ;)

I like this and so small!

However.... I find the light spot on the upper right behind the kittys ear distracting. Seems the same hue and value as the kitty fur and needs to be seperated from it, but not so dark as to create a diagonal behind the cat.

Thanks, Brenda, Lynn & Toni!

Toni, you pointed out the spot that is kind of bothering me--in RL it doesn't jump out so much, but I think I need to knock that back, maybe even go to more leaves and let the cat pop out more. This is on watercolor paper, but only CP with some Inda ink.

I've been doing minis more lately, fits in better with the time I have for artwork.

Best, Jeri

Yah jeri, knocking that back just a tad would help. Breaking up the bg with more cool greens and varied patterns might help too...

small is good if thats what it takes to keep working and accomplishing works to keep you inspired!

Got a change to work on that bright spot, and blended down the greens a bit. Working small seems to get easier as I go, lol.

Hi, Lene! Thank youhttp://www.scribbletalk.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

After I had the basic drawing on the paper, I used black acrylic ink with a fine point pen (dip pen) to get the eyes, ears, some of the darker areas defined as a base for the underpainting with CP and the final layers.

Very lovely. I'm always amazed when people work so small and get so much detail in.

Thank you, Leanne.

I'm finding the small pieces are much easier for me than those bigger than about 11 x 14.

This looks great! Makes me want to crawl in there beside the cat and the flowers and forget about the snow I'm seeing outside. Great job.
