I have some family photos that are mounted on on canvas. When in the wood frame (no glass, of course), the back is flush with the back of the frame. What would be the best way to secure these in the frame? Staple gun with one point of the staple in the frame and one point in the back of the canvas stretchers? Glazier points won't work because it's flush and I haven't seen any other hardware that looks like it would work.

I think a heavy duty staple gun would be just the ticket Leanne.

LeAnne I have a couple of ways that I do that.
United Manufactors Supply (out of New York) has what is called canvas clips. They come in different widths according to the width of your stretcher bars. The only draw back is that you'd proably have to purchase more than you need. Anyway you can search them on google.
The other way that I mount canvas in frames is with small finishing style nails. I drill at an angle through the stretcher bar into the frame. Then place the nail in and tap in place. tips are: don't drill deep into the frame other wise the nail would just fall out. Don't use too long of a nail that it goes through the frame
Spacing between nails is usually 6 to 8 inches depending on the size of the frame.
Ex 8X10 would have two on each side 11X14 would have 2 on 11" side and 3 on 14" side 20 X 24 would have 3 on 20" side and 4 on 24" side

Thanks Debee. I found the clips. Seems Dick Blick also has them. Looks like they'll work well for the square frame, but I think I'll have to use the staple gun for the oval frame.
