Hello I finished this pastel over the Thanksgiving holiday--the reference photo was taken last December along the river near my home--pastel on prepared board--comments welcome--thank you

Would that be Ampersand pastel board? This is a lovely painting Tom. Since I'm very new to pastels, I cannot offer and critique on it. But, for what it's worth, I think it's quite good!

Hi Tom

As you know we dont get any cold weather where I am, But I can feel the sense of the cold and a quite stillness in this painting. Lovely painting and atmosphere Tom.

Seeing your work, Gaka's, and Lucky's etc... helped me decide to join this sight and try pastels as well as improving my colored pencil...

Especially like the bits of warm color picked up in the snow...it gives it a very warm/cold feel...like fall with all the dazzling foilage and frost.

We didn't get the snow like the central part of the state or up North but just enough to mess up the ol' 5:00pm comute....Ugh!

A balmy 19 deg. this morning with snow on the way in the evening.
You may get some of the white stuff too! Maybe a photo op. for
another scene... :angel:

Gorgeous...the shadows cast on the snow show an amazing use of color. Love everything about it!

Are your works in galleries in Iowa. If not, they should be. They should sell like hotcakes. Just gorgeous pastel work and scenery too boot.
