Looking good ! If I could sprout two more hands I would try my hand at pen and ink. How long did it take you? and do you use a dip pen like Meisie?
Norma
Ooooooo I like it! Very nice!
Your doing awsome for your second piece.. wow keep it up!

Thanks for the comments. I used an edding 1880 0.1 pen. It took me a long time but i didn't count really. I am hoping to get some Rapidographs soon so i will be doing more pen and inks.

Nice to see another inker here :)
Great job on the duck and the water
What brand of rapidographs are you getting? I have a Koh-I-Noor set. They're GREAT! :D

Hi Madmur, i just got my set of 7 rapidographs yesterday - the Koi-I-Noor ones. Haven't opened them yet.
Need to learn how to use them now, are they easy? I need lessons.
The duck was done with an Eddington 0.1
Any suggestions on the use of the Koi will be appreciated.

Hi eysha

The best advice I can give on those pens is to KEEP THEM CLEAN! I keep a bottle of tech pen cleaner (which is also used for airbrushes) handy and pour a small amount into a small open container. When I'm done with the pen (for the day), I dip the nib in it and wipe it (gently) with a lint free cloth. I also recommend NOT filling every pen....just the one(s) you are planning to use at the time. If the ink sits too long in the pen (over a few weeks/months) it may clog. You can also purchase a bulb for cleaning the nibs....I think I may have a pic of that and will post it :D

You should be able to find this bulb at any art supply store....if not, I'm sure they can order one for you.
I don't think there's anything wrong with inking over a pencil sketch....it's the way I do it too...just a very light line drawing and I'm ready for ink :D :D

I cannot get the bulb and cleaning liquid here at my art stores thqt Madmur mentions.
Does anyone in England know if i can get them here or do i have to send to the USA to get them?

Wonderful job on the duck! I love the reflection and how you ranged your values. I too love pen and ink work -- have you tried ebay for the 7 Koh I Nor pen set? You can get them for pretty short money when you sneak up on the bids last minute, you might be able to find the bulb there as well.
Good job,
Christine
