Thanks Lene, Lynn & MSL!!:) It's nice to hear that other people find my dogs beautiful! :D I love doing them and I guess that shows! Now I have to get back to work on Toby, the Golden Retriever. One of these days I hope to get back to my CP work. It's had to take a back seat to my Commission work, but this pays for my hobby!:D :D Jean.:bye1: :bye1:
Hi Jean
.. now that you mention cp also .... when taking commissions do you always paint in pastels or do you choose different media for each assignment, or does the customer choose what media they want (from the variaty you use)

Hi Lene! :) I usually do my Pet Portaits in Pastel! I have found that pastel is a much more forgiving medium to work with. :D I have found that I can correct mistakes more easily in Pastel than CP. ;) The Black lab is only my sixth pet portrait and anybody who has commssioned me to do one has never asked me to use a different medium!

Jean this is wonderful. It is wonderful that you enjoy the pet portraits. So many times when commissions are done we don't really enjoy doing them.   Merry Christmas!

Hi Dave! :) Thanks for the vote of confidence for my commission work! :D :D Where is Powys, Wales located? I don't think I have heard of it before. I am from Lancashire, England originally(that's why I have ex-limey for my ST name) and we used to go to Llangollen and Cardiff quite often. Also we travelled up and down the Wye Valley many times, in my younger days, on bycycles. Wales is such a beautiful country!!!

Hi Jean ..... your work is really very good.
I live in Rhayader, in what is now Powys.....used to be the old county of Radnorshire which you may remember. Rhayader is on the Wye, not so far from the river's source [in fact the Welsh name 'Rhaeadr-gwy' means 'waterfall on the Wye']. It is only a few miles from the Elan valley where the Birmingham reservoirs are located. Not sure which areas you cycled but is quite possible you would have done a tour of the Elan.... very beautiful but hard cycling country :D.

She's beautiful Jean, you really have a way with dogs, and are especially good with capturing the color and sparkle of their eyes and shine of their coat.
And they have such a presence, I think you really capture their spirit.

Hi Carolyn! :) Thanks for your kind words about my Dogs. I wish I could do Humans as well as you do. Oh well, I guess we each have our own speciality.
Hello Dave! Thanks for filling me in about Powys. I still think Wales is one of the most beautiful places on your side of the Atlantic!
