My piece titled "Crabs" was juried and accepted into the 2005 Georgia National Fair.
The 16th annual juried competition of Fine Arts was presented during the Georgia National Fair, October 7-16, 2005. This show provides an opportunity for Georgia artists to exhibit their work before an audience of more than 380,000 people who attend the Fair. Merit and Purchase Awards traditionally exceed $15,000. The exhibition will be located in the Miller-Murphy-Howard Building.
2005 JURORS
William Underwood Eiland, Athens. Dr. Eiland is the director of the Georgia Museum of Art in Athens, Georgia.
Jim Mitchell, Cordele. Mitchell was a 1999 Fulbright Scholar to Japan. He is a past district president of Georgia Art Education Association, a charter member of the Colored Pencil Society of America and past program chairman for the Crisp Visual Arts Association.
Eugenia Simmons, Macon. Eugenia Corley Simmons, native Maconite. Her paintings have been juried into national exhibitions in museums and art centers across 17 states. Such prestigious national exhibitions as the National Arts Club Annual, Allied Artists of America, Knickerbocher Artists, American Artists Professional League, Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, all in New York City, and the LaGrange National in Georgia. She has been active in both the Middle Georgia Arts Association and the Georgia Watercolor Society, serving as board member, officer, and National Exhibition Chairman. For two years she served as a visual arts advisor for the Georgia Council for the Arts.
