No email notification

I have subscribed to some threads and should get instant email notification when there are new posts, but nothing happens. I have checked my User CP settings and they seem okay, my email address is correct, and no mails are caught in my internet provider’s spam filter. It worked a week ago. Does anyone else have that problem??

Henrie, I thought it was just me. I've not been getting them for about a week now. I've asked a couple of people and they seem to be getting theirs so I thought it was just my problem.

I checked my settings and it's still set to receive instant email notification.

I dunno what's going on.... but I miss them!

I unsubscribed, and then an hour later subscribed again. Nothing.

Well....... it seems to be working but only part of the time. I'm going to subscribe to a few threads and try and monitor it. I'm going to try and figure out why this isn't working. It seems to have something to do with being subscribed to both the Forum and the Thread. I think what might be happening is when you subscribe to a total forum you only have the choice of daily or weekly notification. But if you subscribe to a thread you can have instant notification. I think what might be happening is the program we use is getting confussed and not sure if it should wait and do it daily or instant so, it just does nothing.

You may want to try playing with that. If you subscribe to a Thread, try doing it as a daily notification rather than an instant notification and see if that helps.

I'm still playing around with it and I'll keep you updated on what's going on.

Too funny..... I got a notification when you posted Brenda but I only got it on the Arlene and Gemma user id, not my normal id. Well as I said I'm still trying to figure this one out. I'll keep you guys updated.

I don't know if this will help, but I am getting email notifications, but they are not instant. It seems to be several minutes later. Not sure exactly how long, but I do get the emails.

Still no emails for me – I should have had three. Sometimes I just hate computer programs :annoyed: .

Ya know Beth, thats a good point! Your quite correct! I'm getting mine too, but they are lagging several minutes to almost an hour behind the new posts.....

hmmm I thought it was my connection lol.. but I forgot I have cable now :blushing:

Well, I do get the email notifications, but there are some caveats:

1) I don't get all of them.

2) Sometimes I will get something that was posted a few days earlier after I get something that has just been posted

3) Some threads seem to work better than others. I have no forum subscriptions, just threads.


In short, I make it a habit of going to ST every day to read updates. It's a good thing... I always find something great there!

I just got 283 "instant" email notifications. A week's worth of updates all in one setting! :rolleyes:
